Article from 2004 talking about how a lot of CIA officers were leaking stuff and mad at Bush.

wow.

"Bill Harlow, the former CIA spokesman who left with the former director George Tenet in July, acknowledged that there had been leaks from within the agency. "The intelligence community has been made the scapegoat for all the failings over Iraq," he said. "It deserves some of the blame, but not all of it. People are chafing at that, and that's the background to these leaks.""

Question:

If it is illegal for CIA to conduct misinformation operations against the US public, which is one of the central themes of The Way of the World.... is it also illegal for CIA to conduct 'trueinformation' operations designed to influence the US public? Especially during election season?
