Suskind Revisited is an artile writteen by Philip Giraldi, posted on August 7, 2008, on the American Conservative website. [1]

He alleges that the Habbush Leter was indeed fabricated but by the Office of Special Plans, not by the CIA. He also claims it was on orders from Dick Cheney.

For a source, Giraldi uses "An extremely reliable and well placed source in the intelligence community". Who is that? How do they know?

An extremely reliable and well placed source in the intelligence community has informed me that Ron Suskind’s revelation that the White House ordered the preparation of a forged letter linking Saddam Hussein to al-Qaeda and also to attempts made to obtain yellowcake uranium is correct but that a number of details are wrong.

This would seem to indicate that the whitehouse did not itself generate the document, nor the text of the document. They 'ordered the preparation'.

The Suskind account states that two senior CIA officers Robert Richer and John Maguire supervised the preparation of the document

Im not sure if thats what the 'suskind account' states, because of that word 'supervised'. Thats a pretty heavy word... not sure if i remember that in the suskind book or in the interview with richer that suskind posted on august 8 2008.
